�Umar Ibn al-Atz

A diplomat and general of the Quraysh tribe. He commanded the military campaigns in Saudi Arabia till the death of the prophet Muhammad. Following the death of the prophet he commanded the conquest of Syria-Palestine (634-636 CE) and Egypt. He founded the city of Fustat (ancient Cairo) � the first Capital of Muslim Egypt. Died 663 CE.
